Flash to Video conversion?

I\'ve been curious as how to convert a video within a flash document to an actual movie file. Main reason I\'m asking is because of the \"The Mystery\" film on the Tokyo Tower of Terror site: http://www.tot1899.com/english/
Would be pretty kicking to have that in front of some sort of tribute video to the attraction, more along the line of the whole \"cinematic\" ride video ideas I\'ve had in my mind for a while.

Ooh...that\'s a tricky one. Well, I\'d say the only way I can think of would be to import the video into flash (though it\'s probably protected, even if you managed to save all of the flash files) and then export it as a .flv (flash video) file. This can then be converted into a video file.

Step one. Open the movie in internet explorer. Clear your cache of all files. Click on all of the links, and explore everything. When you\'re done, open up IEs Cache (by going to internet options and clicking \"View Saved Files\"). Look for the flash files; they should all be in there. Flash designers use many different flash files (.swf) which are linked together, which saves on loading times. Move all of the files to a folder on your desktop. From here, try to import it into flash (which, again, probably wont work) and then go from there.

I hope that helps.

EDIT- Well I tried that; didn\'t have much success. Digging through the rather complicated code I found the link to the main flash file:

You\'ll want to use firefox for this one; IE just asks you if you want to save it (which the site doesn\'t let you do anyway).

I\'ve never found a way to be able to save flash files with movies. Usually movie files are embedded in the flash files, and although you are able to save the flash files to view on your computer, the video files are still saved elsewhere. I\'ve just never found a way, even with trying to use some freeware. If anyone can figure out a way, i\'d like to know too! :D

What\'s usually worked for me is to save the swf file, then use a flash (swf) decompiler like the one from SoThink. Either the video (.flv) will be inside the .swf or the link to the file will be. In my quick look at this file, the only animations I could find embedded were some text, the moving clouds/ lightning backgrounds and the house drawing, so I think the main movie is hosted elsewhere. I will have a further look to see if I can find it. So it looks like if you want the whole thing to just play as a movie, you\'d need to find someone who knows Flash that can assemble all the parts together. Anyone?

Raising this thread from the grave, but I found another link to the subtitled version off of towerorterror.org. Thing is that I still can't get it as KeepVid seems unable to get the file.

Any insight on downloading the flv file?

Although their website is a mess, there is an awesome freeware encoder/decoder called SUPER that will xfer files to and from Flash movies. Grab it here, if you can find the download link -
