How to record rides for audio?

I have seen some outdated topics on this, and wanted to get an updated opinion or two.

I would like to get an economic audio recorder to record the ride audio on my next trip. I have a couple questions:

1) What is a great recorder for a decent/ reasonable price?

2) How would I go about recording so that there is clear ride audio and little background noise? Is that possible?

Sorry, I'm sure this has been asked many times, but I just wanted to get an updated thread going! Thanks!

I don't think the previous thread information is out of date.

1.  Prices haven't changed much neither has the technology...
2.  Check out topics on induction recording.  Nothing has changed on that front either.

Release date 5th September for the zoom H1.
Maybe an urgent impulse purchase is in order  ;)

Looks too much like an electric razor for me (had beard since 1971)  ;D

I apologize. I didn't know what induction recording was, so I was not aware it was related. Thanks!
