SirLamer Moderator Staff member Jun 20, 2009 #3 both .mkv's and .mp4 are just video stream containers. Usually people put h.264 in .mkv's, which is also the only video format for .mp4's. So if you pull the stream you should be able to just pack it into a .mp4 without re-encoding.

F fbueller Member Jun 20, 2009 #4 Google mkv2vob. Great and easy tool, it's free, and usually can avoid reencoding.
