Newbie Seeding Question

Hello,
I understand the downloading part and have been successful, but I have a seeding question: Do I need to stay logged in to mousebits or keep an IE window active to continue to seed a file? I'm using bittorent to download, but I didn't see any setup FAQs.

Also, if I need to temporarily stop seeding to save bandwidth during an online gaming session, for instance, how do I do it?

As long as you keep your bit torrent programme open, it will do the job. You can stop, start or pause a torrent up or down load at any time. I use Azureus, and its a right click option. Not certain about your programme.
 
Hmm...ok thanks. I'll have to google up a FAQ for bittorent, or maybe just download Azureus or something. Seems like bittorent is only "open" when it's actually downloading, but i'm not completely sure. Anyway, thanks for the quick reply!
 
the actual file or just the *.torrent ?

if you deleted the actual file youhave to download it all over again (other wise you can't seed it)
