I've been recording shows onto a dvd recently, is there any way to put the shows on my computer from the dvd?

or as an ISO image too.

You can just copy the vob files - most players will play them but they split the DVD by a maximum size (around 1GB) so you may have to stick them together again. You can then convert them to another format using any number of programs.
I do this a lot as I record on tape in the camcorder, transfer to DVD using my combi-recorder/player and then have to get them on the PC to select bits for editing, uploading etc.
I don't have a video input on my old and slow PC :-[ so it's the only way I can get them on there at the moment.
There's lots of free stuff out there if you don't want to pay for anything.
